How To Join

Like to try R/C aviation? We always welcome new faces. If you would like to join us at the Chattanooga Radio Control Club, here’s how:

First, you will need to join the Academy of Model Aeronautics. The AMA is the official national body for model aviation in the United States. They provide members with liability insurance among other things. You can get information about the AMA and submit an online application via their website at: You must have a current AMA membership to fly at our site.

Option 1: (preferred)

Send an email to and include your Name, Address, email address, telephone number, and AMA number if you have it.  He will answer any questions you may have also such as field access, flight training etc.. 

Pay your dues using the Paypal link on this web site or mail a check to the club treasurer;

As soon as your dues are paid and your AMA membership is verified we will contact you with the gate access code, how to pick up your club membership card and setting up a check flight or training. 

Option 2:

Complete the current CRCC membership application form on this web site. Send the completed form to the Club Treasurer (all information is on the form). Please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Upon receipt of your dues and verification of your AMA membership,  you will get a membership card along with gate entry information for the field. 

Your CRCC membership card will be your credential to use the field and helps those of us that forget names!

Annual dues are structured as follows:

  • Single Membership – $80.00 (If you are new to CRCC, the first year dues for this category only are half price)
  • “Flying” Family Member Add-on (Immediate family member, residing in same household, age 19 & over) – $20.00
  • Youth (Under age 19) – $1.00
  • Out of Town Membership (> 50 miles) – $25.00

Our club meetings are held the second Thursday of each month. Check the Calendar of Events for location & time, or the latest newsletter at the “Newsletters” link.
